thanks. I know that I need to bath Rascal. I would have but I read that they hate baths. These americans have posted bath videos on you tube and none of the hedgehogs make a fuss at all. I was lucky that night with Rascal letting me handle him. He has gone back to being his usual wild self now. With my job I'm not there every night unfortunitly.
Things have improved a bit. Rascal was in my lap, wraped in a towel for about half an hour. I was stroking him with my real hand and his prickles were more relaxed. I am still nervous in case he bites me though so as soon as he starts to fiddle about I put him down. I never thought that he would let me hold him like he did last night. He has bitten my boyfriend twice and they really get on well together. Has Fidget ever bitten? Rascal is a bit messy and needs a bath. I am waiting a little longer until he gets more used to me because I have heard that they hate baths.
Fidget looks really tame and calm comparded to my Rascal. He sits on the childrens laps and they don't seem to be afraid of him. I have only held Rascal for a few minuites then he uncurls and I get nervious. If they go to lick you does that mean that they want to bite you? He doesn't hind so much when he sees us though. So that's one improvement. He only really gets up if we go to bed and we go quite late. When I have wondered in he is just standing doing nothing. He has a little wheel but doesn't ever seem to use it. He used it for the toilet once.I've got him his own little football but he ignores that. What toys will he like? I will try and sit him on my lap soon. My boyfriend handles him better that I do and he is not so spiky with him. Will he get used to me?
Not sure really, just trying to get to grips with how to use everything. Have been reading loads of threads over the last week, and have found them really interesting. Thought I'd join up!
