Default What tortoises do not hibernate?

I have someone writing to me, who says on the advice of a well known UK based Group that they should hibernate their Moroccan tortoises.

This brings me to ask what tortoises should not / do not hibernate?

Many thanks

Species, where the climate remains constant all year, perhaps there is a wet and dry season but the temperature remains much the same all year, in climates such as these the tortoises would not hibernate.
Tortoises, such as redfoots, yellowfoots, leopard, Indian star, to name a few, their are loads more.

I personally wouldn't hibernate any North African spur-thigh. They don't get all that cold in the winter and if it does, it's only for a short period of time. They don't need to hibernate to breed and lay eggs.
It would be quite a list of tortoises that don't hibernate.

Perhaps this is something we need to cover at a meeting as it appears many people off Forums etc believe all tortoises can hibernate

my hermanns don't

it could be said that no tortoise would hibernate if temperatures didn't drop low enough for them to do so

If it is not a true Hibernation then is it not called an Estivation that Tortoises can go through if too Hot or cold. If so then all Tortoises Estivate for periods of months.
