THE BRITISH CHELONIA GROUP
Found here http://www.britishcheloniagroup.org.uk/index.htm
The Britsh Chelonia group is an EXCELLENT CHARITY they do lots of conservation work and their news letter is brilliant, you receive it every two months. I have been a member on and off (student days off) for nearly 10 years, their newsletter contains items for sale and a rehoming section. IT IS WELL WORTH THE JOINING FEE Shelled Warriors 100% back the BCG

I agree totally with Sarah, a very under rated group.
I do know they are updating their care sheets, which is brilliant. But also know they are short staffed, so somethings take a lot longer to do. They do sponcering all around the world, I have seen it at Golforon in France, but they get little advertising, so most are unaware of what they do. I also have been a member since the 1980's.

Been a member on and off for some time now keep forgetting to renew it
I have rehomed through the BCG and owe a lot to them for the beautiful female Oran type Tgg (Wendy)I recieved who has laid several small clutches of eggs which have produced some beautiful babies. And also a Very dark male Tgg of possible Algerian origin who I recieved to pair with my female Algerian who is a very dark specimen also. I highly recommend everyone join this organisation its very well worth the time I promise. D

I am member of the bcg just received july/august news leter always a facinating read. You'd be amazed by how much of a world wide organisation they are.
Helping out in madagasker (sp?) with reintroducing the ploughshare tortoise. Involved in repopulating lonesome gorges "pinta island" with the closest dna match to lonesome george. 120 five year old tortoises being released there this september all of which have solar powered tracking devices fitted. They paid for three large incubators for some rair breed of turtle that has sucessfully laid fertile eggs in some zoo in japan I think it was, but dont quote me on that. A very worth while charity to support imho. Jason |
