No Wendy, I can honestly say I've never heard that song in my life. I looked it up though and it was 1985. Because our kids were 4 and 1 at that time we never got much time to watch telly, we stopped watching TOTP long before that though because guitars became a thing of the past and we didn't like the new electronic stuff. I never had a car radio until probably the 90's.
I was also on DF118's for the whole of the 80's after my accident from 1980-1990 and I can't remember a whole lot about that decade at all
The only Band Aid folk I remember were Geldof and Boy George and the Irish guy with the sunglasses whose name escapes me ATM.
I have heard of Neil Young if that's any use

.. haven't heard of wherever I lay my hat either, is it a band or a song? was it on the film about sheffield strippers?

Well, you didn't miss much Alan. I hate the 80s music basically for the same reason as you. There wasn't any real music, it was all that electronic rubbish. Give me a good guitar solo any day.

Dire Straits kind of saved the 80's a bit though I also didn't know a lot about them until later on after they'd been on the go for years. REM, did they start in the 80's? They were ok
