I'm uselessly impatient too, so understand why you have a certain date in mind. I like everything to 'fit' too.
But Gordon can do it Emma ! He has to or Ming will have a say.

OMG don't get a rat Ceirdwyn anything but a rat !!!! Hamsters are nice. Hammy is fluffy , rats aren't. CB

Noooooooooo, hamsters are bitey little b*ggers. Rats are clean, intelligent and loving if you socialise them properly, they can do tricks and puzzles and sleep in your pocket. So cute.

Oh I know G can do it.......but Ming?!! I know Gordon is flash, but let's keep it real!!

The idea of watching the process of egg to hatchling to it becoming your own tortoise is hugely exciting and hopefully far less stressful than going through the incubation yourself. I found that excruciating with Esmé. I was constantly anxious!!
So yes, I'd always recommend Gordon anyway, but I get the whole wanting dates to fit thing too. Once I have a timescale in my mind I hate being in limbo and not knowing. I can be patient if I know something's coming and when it's coming.....it's the not knowing!

Youngest has decided that if Eldest is getting a tortoise, they want a pet rat or two. Cool with me, I love rats, we just have to keep it away from the snakes!
THH are very hard to come by, and you have the perfect breeder to get it from. Trust me it will be worth the wait, and Gordon is very carefull that they are not cross bred with THH from different localities. He is very strict about pure bred tortoises. Stay calm, relax and wait for the perfect THH

Isn't is odd people who like snakes, seem to like rats too. I have always wanted a rat and I still haven't got one.

I think we have a soft spot for maligned animals. Rats, snakes, wolves, even dragons, they are nearly always the baddy in the story. They all have an undeserved bad reputation, and we're willing to look past that and make our own decisions about them.

I love wolves. And dogs. Got nice photo of a wolf and read Men and Wolves ,very interesting. Rats are a tad far, though I don't mind the white ones too much, don't they eat tiny baby chickens though...don't tell me.
Emma will have a favourite dragon in Game of Thrones I bet ! They eat anything but I can forgive that. CB

I'm going to read the books first. I'm saving GOT for when it's all done and dusted and then I'm going to sit and devour the entire dvd box set with a big box (or maybe more) of chocs.
I'll let you know who my favourite dragon will be.....
As Sean Bean is my favourite actor, I know Ned Stark will come top of my favourite characters, though I know he's not in it for long. An actor who's famous for dying so much. Typical to have him as my favourite.
