I know Florettes salad, Romaine lettuce, big leaf Watercress, and Rocket are ok Not sure about about organic Carrot tops, and I know cabbage family stuff is no good along with peas sweetcorn and most fruit Any input is appreciated!!! |

I know many don't like them but having a tub of pellets such as the Komodo ones is always a good standby and they do contain all the torts need. I also think you'll find that far more owners do use them whether its just occasionally or on a regular basis than say that they do, certainly in the winter months, just make sure they are well soaked.

I'm glad I've got pellets because we can't even get out to get to the supermarket
BTW, not sure about carrot tops i think they are not good for torts or maybe even harmful. not sure though |

I thought carrot - whatever the particular part - is not that good for them anyway.
Scapula - I would invest in a tub of pellets for stand by food. Al - what will you do without your Fish supper this week?? |

I beleive that a little grated carrot is a natural wormer, I don't actually think that many natural foods are harmfull and those that are a bit doubtfull if only fed occassionally won't do any harm. It can be just as if not more harmfull to say feed the same thing all the time as a balanced diet won't be given and the tort could be lacking in things.

I feed a little grated carrot now and again just to vary their diet

Well the last couple of days for our little one's have been a spoon full of pellets (soaked of course) and the rest of the daily meal has been made up of baby leaf herb salad mix. Wooooooe gulp and gone!!!
Hopefully we will get a bit of rain again tonight and clear a bit of the white stuff from the garden so we can pick a bit of plantain to mix and maybe a few dandelion leaves. Try a bit more butternut squash too I think. Went yesterday with the Mrs and we bought a couple dozen cheap pansy plants from homebase (Couple Quid for the lot), Washed roots out, picked leaves off and re-potted, maybe they'll take off again maybe not, but for £2.00 I had to give it a go. Next year we should have a greenhouse. Hopefully make things a bit easier. Good luck all.
