Bad signs ...
today i woke up to find jasper up very early he's heat had dropped as being stingey the heating hadn't been on, for a while, in my house, annyway, he's little face was scrunched up and he looed rather ill, as i put my hand in to renew his fod, he got a bit of a shock and lets say quite a lot of snotty bubbly, liquid come out of his little nose. he seems an awful lot better know, (his heat has gone up) but has he got a cold, is there anything i can do?

I think a trip to the vet's is in order, it could be the start of RNS, in which case it will probably need a course of antibiotics to clear it up

sounds like RNS runny nose syndrome
this could be due to the environment housing/ substrate/temps etc or it may be stress related or it may be bacterial and require treatment from a vets |

I agree with Kelly
I have an ibera who gets RNS every year for one week then it goes. I have treated it in the past but it always goes on its own. Im not saying to leave it a week with yours but as Kelly said keep the heat up and see what happens.

i may be a bit confused but i would advise that your day bulb should be white or ordinary light this red bulbs are not "seen " by the torts during the day especially during the spring and summer the torts need light that is equivalent to sunlight the red bulbs do not achieve this illumination |

O'K a lot to reply to hear. nut let's clear up first, jasper is fine, a friend of mine has a tort has had for years, took a look at him and said he was fine. it was just a small sniffle that's all!
i wouldn't have thought it was to do with the viv, what has that got to do with it? But just to make you all happy i am looking into removing the glass doors to increase air flow. The red bulb, is just fo basking, and to be honest he spends most his time under, it really is fine! he has a uv tube anyway to keep him warm temps in there are fine. so everything ids fine. thankyou all for your concern. ellie x
