loss of balance?!?
hey everyone, ive noticed whenever i put shelly down after holding him, or when placing him in his bath, he leans to one side before finding his balance.... he nearly fell totally on his one side in his bath this morning after i placed him in it, i caught him in time though but was wondering if this was normal?!?

Do his ears look OK - no swelling or anything?

balance
In my opinion as a reptile vet, I dont consider that normal and would recommend a check up -
causes of this include head trauma, excessive heat, low blood calcium/glucose, liver disease, ear abscessation, meningitis. HTH Hannah

i got him from a breeder in south wales, and hes been kept in a viv for a while, but i kitted him out with a whole new house and everything, its the fact that he was kept in the viv thats got me worried...... and like i said it doesnt happen all the time, and he dont fall over just a bit 'wobbly'
its really awkward with my working hours to get him to a vet but i am going to book and get him checked out for definate, to make sure hes ok, and to put my mind at rest! thanx for your help everyone! |
