thanks everyone still feel very guilty , have been in touch with naturalis and he has spur tortoises at the moment so just really looking into how much the care is different to the horsefeild any advise welcome and thanks again !!

The care is much the same, I think they grow a bit bigger and seem to be more prone to RNS. I had noticed this just from reading RNS posts on here but it was disputed by some people so I did a poll, not all that many replies on the poll but spurs do come up with the most cases of RNS on it. Given that there are twice as many Hermann owners than spur owners the ratio of RNS seems quite high for spurs http://www.shelledwarriors.co.uk/for...lts&pollid=103

there is also Jemma1 in the classifieds that is selling hatchling horsfields if you take a look in the classifieds forum if you definately want a horsfield hatchling, although i'm sure if you went for a spurthigh tortoise from Chris you will get good care and advice on how to look after it X
