Default 5 eggs today

After only stomping briefly ( usually lots) Jemima dug a quick hole and very swiftly popped out 5 eggs 😄 honestly it was no time at all 😄

Go Jemima and well done Sammy! I take it he's done rather well at catching up with the lady in his life. I'm keeping everything firmly crossed that you've got some fertile ones there and some little Hermann hatchlings to look forward to in about 2 months time.

Well he hasn't been very interested in her this spring, so there hasn't been any action, so to speak, but I can only hope that she is carrying fertile eggs from last summer, I'm not sure how it works ! Maybe some one can explain, do they carry fertile eggs over hibernation, into the next spring? Dan, Gordon can you explain?

There is a good chance they will be fertile suze I'm not sure how many years they can hold sperm but I have a horsfield that is pushing out fertile eggs and she hasn't been with a male in three years.

One more baby from these two would be nice, as I don't know how much longer Sammy will last.
