Default Imports

Tortoses that are imported have suffered tremendously. I have watched a video of imported Tortoises and it was horrific. I wont go into details, you can probably imagine. I will send you a link...Then you can decide...I would recommend a Breeder from here in the Breeders list. I will also give you a link on breeders too

Horace is the proof that you can get a Tort off the internet. I payed over £370 for Horace, inside house and outside house. Now I have payed MORE on E-bay for a 4 foot inside house and out side EVEN More

Your Tortoise is no doubt fine, some turn out good tort's where ever they come from, but you are taking more chances than say a home bred.
Les White does breed some tort's but they also Import as well.

Horace is Great. Great service and after care. Horace was home bred, unless you can say otherwise? Les as left now, BUT the people who have taken over still look after the torts like Les did. I just hate having English Tort LOL.
I have told Horace he is WELSH and been given proof that Horace was made in Hull. God Help Him and I

It is his Son who has taken over, as said they did import mainly from Germany, where they had many contacts. The care and aflercare advice was good. I have a 6 year old, rehomed Herman's that originly came from them, she's ok. Some good thing's do come out of Hull. Er, yeah, Aunt Bess'y Yorkshire Puddings.

CB07 means Captive Bred in 2007. people often confuse captive bred with UK bred. Captive bred just means they are not wild caught but bred in captivity. wild caughts are illegal. I wouldn't put anyone off buying from a shop or wherever as I have done so myself. If I were to buy another now though I'd go for a UK bred one but that is only my opinion, my Slovenian torts are fine and have even learned to speak English

have a look at EJ's Slovenian farm thread to see where they come from http://www.shelledwarriors.co.uk/for...ad.php?t=33069
