So you have changed your mind you now don't think anything above 0°C is acceptable and 3°C is not a safe low limit. Can I ask why, what new evidence is there suggesting keepers should hibernate a "PET" Med Tortoise at 10°C (TEN) or above ? I've only had 33 years experience of hibernating and I have already stated the benefits I've found of hibernating in a controlled environment like a fridge compared to box hibernating. I know for a fact that if I tried to hibernate my ibera at 10°C or above I would just end up with a very sick tortoise. But luckily I do have my own mind and I'm not willing to believe all the rubbish written on the Internet, so I'll carry on hibernating at 5°C and end up with a happy healthy active tortoise come the spring.
