Default red foot tortoise

Hi
I am thinking or getting a red foot tortoise i have got hermann .I was thinking or they hard to look after and do they still have a table.Any informative would help me make up my mind. jackie

hi there jackie i am a red keeper
i have 6 myself yes 6 its not a typo lol
i would say myself they are a bit more work than meds as i also keep horsfields
they are truly lovely torts are red foots .
they can be housed in a table
day time temps need to be 92f nighttime no lower then 72f
there diet is mainly weeds with a small amount of fruit and protin ..
humidity between 60 and 80% a few sprays a day sould do this .
substrate topsoil and reptibark playbark ..
think ive covered most things erm if i missed anythink shout me
have a sick 5 yr old going on at me at the mo hard to think
redfoots are really lovely torts just remember they get big

i have 4 reds and absolutly adore them

i agree with everything becks said

just to add reds love a bath and do not hibernate bonuses

i use a ceramic heater which does not give out any light

this is controlled by a timer so it comes into action after the trex has gone off

and it is also linked to a thermostat so that there is still a difference in day and night time temperatures

i live in a very warm house so no extra heating is needed for my reds in there enclosure at night
