Thanks Dan and boxgirl, I will try some warm sphagnum, give her some options. This is the best I've come up with today.

(Yes that is a dog basket and no, it hasn't had a dog in it).

Luckily I've been digging out turfs for a new tortoise enclosure this weekend so its kinda solid around the edges with a soft spot of fresh soil based compost mixed with a bit of playsand in the middle. Something for her to aim for

Anyone got a good humidity level for Ornate eggs?
My incubator is cranked up to 80% humidity at the moment. I'm setting the temp to 26c (for obvious reasons, just in case).

I think tonight's the night, she's about 6 inches down in the dog basket and still digging.

What I do is place the eggs on damp vermiculite (1 to 1 by weight). I put the vermiculite in a small plastic container that has a top. I put 8 holes in the top of the container and place in the incubator. I weigh this and write down the weight. I weigh every 2 weeks and replace the water that has evaporated. It works great for me.

Good luck with the eggs Dave

Danny

Thanks Dan, much appreciated. She's head up out of the hole now with a lot of back leg work going on.
