Oooh, I used to live in Anglesey (Llangefni)
Amazon exotics used to be located in Holyhead! Really wanted to go and have a look around lol (might go to the living rainforest in Rhyl one of the days) I've never heard of any tortoise events in north Wales but I like to go to the welsh mountain zoo in Colwyn bay, they have lots of torts(you can get a free minibus that takes you there from the train station if you have no transport, you can't miss it, it covered in Zebra markings lol) |

Keep a look out for a male Horsfeild with a slightly deformed shell on his back end, he used to be mine, if you see him, call his name (Tony) he normally comes running over when he see's or hears us!! |

I love The Living Rainforest in Rhyl - They are my tortoise suppliers. Just make sure to call before you go if you want anything specific, but if it's not in stock they can get it for you. I usually print off a shopping list from the website and call it in.
It's a shame there's nothing meet wise that's local, although when I say local you have to be prepared to travel when you live so far away from everything, so I'm happy to travel up to about an hour as "local". And further afield for something really special. While we're on the local theme, is there a tort vet in Anglesey, Gwynedd or Conwy? My vets are great (Holyhead), and Lolly's fine (she was there when she was being chipped), but just in case bad stuff happens, it would be nice to know if there was a specialist anywhere near. Thanks for the replies everyone. Crwban

I think the raptor & reptile sanctuary use a vet in Liverpool
There's also a vets in Wrexham and I'm not sure but I think there might be one in Colwyn bay? Steve (living rainforest) son, helped us move house from Anglesey to Llandudno lol we also used to live over the road from 2 of his sons when I lived in Old Colwyn! Shelled warriors do have meets at Chester Zoo you could call that a tortoise event? Lol |
