My megaray just goes out for no reason, but usually pops back on a minute later. It usually is a dimmer colour at first but goes back to full brightness.

I noticed it also cuts out if the lamp gets knocked.

When your bulb is "dimmer" Does it buzz?? I get an awful buzzing noise I have now removed the MR Bulb, I cant stand it any longer I have spent all morning back and forth from H/B trying different bulbs. ITs a nightmare, it really is.

Just waiting for Daz to give me his address to return my bulb.

Got a normal 60watt bulb in there at the mo. And eddies sulking. Shes sit in the corner most of the weekend.

Im still waiting for response from Darren, He promised me end of week before last he would know more by the beginning of the week that has just past. Im totally fed up with waiting. I still got the replacement bulb sitting in its box in a cupboard. I cannot use it, its pointless. Its off more than its on. And the buzzing drove me insane! Just checked my mail, 16th was the last time I had mail from him.

I'm not going to pay again for it to be returned, It cost me £13 last time. I had sent that 1st sign for. I refuse to do it again. Im fed up with the whole scenario of it all. I dont even want to think about it.

Your lucky, the buzzing drove me insane!! I got a 60w normal bulb too, but she's still sulky! I'm really not happy!

I'm a bit worried about this "smoking" business, as I'm out three days a week for 12hrs or more, and noone else is in the house with Cookie.

Only problem I've had is flickering, but that rights itself pretty quickly.

How would I know if the bulb is overheating? and how do you know how much UV it's giving off? I'm due to buy another in a few weeks or so.

Hi Caroline,
the only way to check the UV output is with a UV meter
