Well as you knwo I do , and I would say yes quite safe there jaws are pretty small and weak compared to most dogs so even if they did take a fancy to your tortoise little damage wouldbe done .
But saying thsi no dog should be left unsupervised with any tortoise no matter how safe you think they may be D

I would not leave my chihuahuas alone with my tortoises.
No dog should be ever left alone with a tortoise in my eyes, read to many horror stories

I have a chihuahua and he's a very good boy but I would not let him stay with my torts on his own, I lock my bedroom door where I have my torts everytime I leave because my dogs get lonely and open doors to see if they can find anyone.
