Default Swollen eyes

Hi all I have just noticed one of my horsfields has swollen eyes. They are on top soil and she has been active and eating well. I have bathed her and gently wiped the eyes with a cotton bud and warm water but they are still shut. I don't have an expert vet close by will my normal vet be able to help? Anything I can do for her? Advice would be welcome as I'm a bit worried about her.

I know one of my horsfields is sensitive to dust, she had really watery eyes and runny nose, took her to the vet for a check up then i trialed her for a week on newspaper and low and behold her eyes and nose dried up! all the others are ok with the soil, will give me a conunderum when she emerges from hibernation and go outside in spring! May have to house her in a seperate shed with no soil, its hard to keep the shed soil dust free even hosing it down x

She may have scratched or got grit in her eyes if the soil is dusty. i would keep bathing her eyes in luke warm water, i do have reptile eye drops by beafer (spelling) thats pretty good x

Thanks for that. My vet just told me to try cold tea bags so going to try that and if no help I will take her in to see them. They are not specialist but might help for now. I've rang a specialist vet as well but they are miles away. I'm going to change there topsoil tomorrow see if that helps. She is eating and active and nose looks clear.

I've just bathed with a tea bag and her eyes are open now. They don't look red or sore

You could try comfort eye drops. I used the sainsburys own brand before. Few people have also used the optrex infected eye drops with success x
