They do look puffy and not quite right.. When I got my rescue Victor, he had eyes like that and I used gentle, moisturising eye drops and they are perfect now.

What substrates is he on?

Hi Lynne, he is on topsoil, but I felt his eyes were like this on all the substrates I have tried so not sure what will be best for him, he has always been one for rubbing his eyes since I got him. Wonder if he is extra sensitive ?? I've had him on aspen, beech chips, top soil - sand mix, just top soil now and his eyes are still like this....should I try him without a substrate for a wee while to give his eyes rest from irritation? He doesn't dig down, he sleeps under his hide or in his readi hay.

His eyes definitely don't look quite right, just had a thought, could it be an allergy to the ready hay that he sleeps on?

If that is the case then he is allergic to everything except top soil!! Super sensitive little fella then!! mmmm i will take it all out and see how he goes. makes the table look very plain and boring for him if he can only have top soil.

Mine only have top soil and little hides, when they go under the hide they dig into the soil a bit and they are quite happy, and even if they don't dig in much it doesn't matter. It might not be the hay, it's just a thought. Hope you solve the problem soon.

I'll take the hay out and keep bathing his eyes. see how that goes.
