I only know that opuntia is okay and Sedum as long as it is not Sedum Acre. To be honest I've tried putting plants in the enclosure and they are more bother than they are worth. If you do, keep them in the posts and have big enough pots that they can't climb onto and fall onto their backs. I have a Health & Safety officer in my enclosure

They are 3 and a half inch wide pots so are not that big. the Aloe plant may also be okay, I'd sa it would most likely not be toxic anyway. They are all slow-ish growing plants. plants dry out very quickly under the lamps too

Perhaps i could put them at the non hot end though...So really then , I could get a variety of these plants and just pop them in (do i keep them in the pots but bury them down...?, or properly plant them in...and bing, thats it??)
Might be nice for Lily to have somewhere to hide away, theres not much that i have at the moment in the current one but know that he does like to play hide and seek sometimes!! would you say get a couple or more?? xx you lovely !!XX |

caledonia - . Lily is pretty big, so i guess i have to think about size. with these pots though, dont they find it hard to turn?? I have to stress lily is not small. He is about 6 and half inches long in shell size - yes a bigger 2-3 yr old! So i have to consider space and this is why i was thinking plants or something, anything really where they can have a hideaway.
May start a new post on this....and canvass opinions. |

six and a half inches is incredibly big for a 2 year old tort unless it's a Sulcata is it?
You can get those pots quite big for about 99p though. they'd do unbroken, laid on side and half filled with soil. but don't make it a way of escape for him |
