This is the tortoise table i won off of ebay its 3ft by 2ft and about 6 inches deep and in great condition not bad for £51 considering brand new these go for a rediclous amount of money .
This is the heat lamp im getting for him! http://www.allpet.co.uk/shop/index.p...c84858efa31f34 And this is the uvb bulb! http://www.thetortoiseshop.com/products/details/74.html I didnt want to build a tortoise table due to moving soon and not having the room but i will build him a huge table after the move and in the spring get him a little freind 8) Also i got him a couple of artificial silk plants hopefully i can make his little world into a little paradise |

Your tortoise will love the hemp bedding. Make sure it is aubiose or that it has had the dust extracted. And make it nice and deep (at least three or four inches in the sleeping end), as horsfields love to bury them selves in it). Nice looking table. |

hi tank, theres no need to go and spend £56 on those bulbs, you can buy the same uva bulb on ebay for around £20-£25, as you do not need the wiring kit as it looks like it is already built in the table, also i wouldnt pay £20 extra for a plug, wire, and bulb holder neither that price is way out, and you dont really need the other bulb neither for £6 plus postal, just go and buy a 60watt spot bulb like we most do heres the excact same bulb on ebay for far less, and they are good with replacements if need be, hope this has helped. (copy n paste the link, if the link doesnt work )

Sorry to sound negative but you will need a much deeper substrate than that table will allow for a russian, otherwise he will spend most of his time trying to dig deeper in the corners You will also need a lot more hemp than that for him. As Linz says do not get those lamps they are far too expensive for what they are. The spot is just a normal supermarket spot lamp that has an inflated price - expect to pay around £1.50. Also the uvb lamp setup is not good either as the lamps shown are only any good on their own for a tiny hatchling temporarily and need to be mounted horizontally to give maximum benefit and with a reflector. I would use a minimum of two together. Also they are only about £25 normally. Sorry but that site is a rip off Hope you have not already ordered from them. |

That sounds great. If you are gong for that depth then put sand/soil mix in with lots of bits of tree roots and stuff that he can create an underground hide in. You will find that he lives in it and comes out during the day - very natural |
