Oh I see! it is a long time since I have had to worry about the demands of someone else
I am the same with my tortoises, on the days that I look after my Grandson I get my husband to stay home from work until I have finished all the feeding, soaking and cleaning of them so that I can then look after my Grandson (what a bad Nana!!) |

Darwin is mine, but David sorts most of the technical stuff ie lighting etc. He helps me clean him. I feed and bath him usually. Taz was mine before I met David, but David also helps out there too.
There has to be give and take in a relationship, if they are not at all interested in animals are they the right one for you? But equally, you can't expect them to stay in all the time if they like going out. I'm attached as you put it, but not opposed to the idea of dating on here idea, personally I think a dating site is better, but that worked for me so I would. I think it could cause problems if things went pear shaped. Forums are faceless for a reason, it's not personal then when debates and discussions get heated. Plus look at the area this forum covers, it's pretty much world wide. Dating sites can be more specific.

I voted no because this is a tortoise forum not a dating site, if it went ahead I think it would have to be something extra that you had to sign into/join rather than just an extra section on the forum. Plus to be honest there already is a means of pm'ing members privately and talking on chat so if someone was really interested in someone else the means to contact are already there.

I agree stells no one was prepared to compromise on dates and where and some excuses as to why it couldn't be on a certain day or place seemed to be just that excuses. The ones at Chester zoo seemed to be the most popular, back in the early days and I'm sure if people really want to have one they can make arrangements to get to a place and on a certain day even if it means an overnight stay.

It is possible to say camp and you can usually find two for one entry tickets, travel the day before and stay two nights camping, it doesn't have to be exspensive and can be part of a short break or even included in a longer one
