Default Free MOT for MVB Bulbs/UVB emitting tubes

For anyone attending the 25th July tortoise meeting (see other thread for details) - Kirkie is offering to bring along his Solarmeter 6.2 and give your MVB Bulbs or UVB emitting tubes an MOT.

Easier all round if you bring the fittings (especially any flouro tubes as the starters are specific to the tube length).

No charge.

Great idea. I would advise everyone to take this offer up.

The MV lamps are supposed to be on for at least 30 minutes before testing but I've found you get the same readings after only 10 or 15 mins

A very good idea and I echo what Alan says - invaluable if you have a MV bulb you have bought (and you live in this area) to make sure it is giving out good UV. Remembering that you can only tell this by using these Solarmeters to check. For piece of mind, its worth knowing that your bulb is doing what it should...or you may find your bulb is basically just putting out heat and nothing else/low levels of uv. Hope plenty of people take advantage of it. xx
