Hi don't be muddled , posted for keepers who also keep other reptiles and the likes. Tables are one of the best way's for tort's, but cheap vivs can come in for overwintering/ not hibernating small med tort's, with a bit of tweaking the set up.

aaaaaah, thanks a lot, so in the winter, when not hibernating, some people use vivariums? and also what is the 'tweaking' that needs to be performed?

Vivs can suffer from poor ventilation, and it can be hard to get a good temp gradient, especially in a small viv.
But with a little care and planning that can be overcome, a well set up viv will work as well a good set up table, and in some cases and some species it can be easier to use a viv. Really depends on what you are trying to achieve. Personally I think tables are easier to setup for 90% of keepers. |

Vivariums are great for tropical tortoise such as red foots and yellow foots, who require a more humid environment
