Emma it is a male Horsfields He has been grown a bit to quick, but I've seem much worse. Horsfields do though have larger front legs then other Testudo as they are great diggers and need larger front legs to do that.
He looks pretty good to me. I'm sure you could straighten him out in no time

Thanks for all your advice, I have explained to the lady why the diet and viv are a problem for the tort and asked if she would accept less for him. I said that she could sell the viv seperately for a lizard. She said that she wanted to sell them together and had already had calls from other people interested. I would have thought about it with a lower proce if he were a she but as I already have a male I can only take on females.

She is selling them for her son who moved out and left them behind so just wants rid of them as soon as possible really.

Thanks for all your help.

I think a male too!
Why not contact one of the breeders instead?

Do you think it would be worth contacting breeders? I thought they would only have young babies and I would like to get one as old as possible to be sure that it is female.

Its always worth it,
Sometimes a breeder may keep hold of torts till they are old enough to sex them to decide whether they want to breed or not. Circumstances change all the time...
Try a breeder first, then theres the slowcoach website but be careful on there.
You could also put an ad on the for sale/wanted forum on here!

Thanks Wendy, I will have a look at the breeders list.
I have looked at Slowcoach but there seem to be a lot of dodgy ads on there , also posted on here about it a while ago and got lots of good advice.

He has the typical sloping spine of a horsfield kept in a viv with no exercise other than digging in a corner and incorrect diet with most likely no supplements or uvb . I would avoid unless she is willing to rehome it, It is likely to need vet visits I would have thought.
This is a correctly grown horsfield
