I use limestone flour and Nutrabol. The flour is just for the calcium but the Nutrabal has vitamins and minerals.

Thanks for your quick replies
Do you use nutrabol with every feed ? or would too many extra vit's cause excessive and deformed growth? Sorry for so many question but if I don't ask I don't learn from you experienced keepers. |

I use them both every feed and I also have a dish of natural chalk and a cuttle fish (nothing like covering all bases) Obviously if the torts are outside grazing they don't have it, having said that I have mixed some flour in with the soil that my weeds are growing in, in the hope of adding a little extra calcium. I'm not really obsessive, honest.

Neutrobal is more important when torts are indoors only getting UV from lamps. Outside there is always more UV for them and I only provide Neutrobal once a week when they are outside. There is a small possibility of excess D3 if using Neutrobal and there is plenty of UV as well. As far as the calcium goes I don't think there is any way of having an excess, they would excrete surplus.

THe product you have chosen is great for giving your tortoises and doesn't have an expiration date.
But as others have said it isn't a replacement for something like Nutrabol, but rather another supplemantary feed as well to provide extra calcium. |

Giving too much calcium can cause bladder stones.
