I wonder what the French do with their Hosta eaters ! I think a lot of torts like the protein in their diet, CB

Yes my hermanni do sometimes eat slugs. Yuk.
I'm sure Sandy is right but there is an infinite supply of snails and slugs here. If I kept boxies they might get fat! It's a clay soil, usually lots of rain and wet but mainly mild winters. When we do get a really hard winter the mollusc population plummets.

Yes I can see that but mild winters...! your mild is our frozen wasteland maybe !!!
I don't mind them eating the slugs but I do feel sorry for the snails. Not sure why but some of them are pretty small and its like a rabid fest on them by the Horsfields, CB

There is something quite cute about hedgehogs eating snails though. I nearly rescued on today from one of my girlie Horsfields. But then thought of my hosta's. CB
