Default Arcadia D3 UV Basking Lamp 100w

Hi Everyone

I am going to change the lighting I have to a combine lamp. I was thinking of Arcadia D3 UV Basking Lamp 100w.

I am really not sure what type of holder I need to use size shape etc.

Henry is 4 1/2 years old. He is in a indoor small table and we have a strip light in the middle of the table and a 60 watt spot bulb at the one end.

What sort of holder do I need to use - I have seen some dome shaped ones and other shapes and different sizes. Would it also be best to have this in the middle of his table or at one end.

Many Thanks for any replies

Mandy

Hi Mandy
I've just done exactly the same. I'm really pleasd with the temps from the Arcadia D3. I bought this holder http://www.surreypetsupplies.co.uk/z...p-fixture.html

Really pleased with both.

I use the exo terra glo light lampholders with the Arcadia 160w bulbs

your bulb holders need to be a high enough wattage to take the 100w bulb but most or all probably are. the exo terra glo light holder is about £12 for a 100w and about £15 for the large size at surreypets

these are my glo light holders

but the deep domes are possibly a better make. not sure if they come with hangers though but they might

Thats the one I have Beryl and they are excellent, and IMO less hassle to set up.
They have a little threaded hole at the top end of the dome, this is just hooked on to the lampstand and bingo, hangs perfectly vertical. Perfect for a combined bulb.
The ones Al says above - also are good and do the trick. xx

i use a Zoo Med Deep Dome holder for my combined bulb, it's really easily to install, hangs well and also has a switch so you don't have to turn off at the plug (which is great if you have your bulb on a timer). Would recommend.

Arcadia do the own special holders for them also...

You would have to check the size though (2 sizes) - I also the see that the bulbs are at an offer price today.
