Don t know can you post the latin name and i ll look it up.
As for sedums - mine likes the common type and only when first come through and are more tender ie the leaves. Tortoises also like sow thistle and I bought a nice kind a few years ago from a wildflower site which has blue flowers on. Mine likes the leaves in the spring and early summer.

Any carex grass will be ok i think, i have a few in each of the tort gardens but mine dont eat them, they like to lay under them.
I have planted many sedums in the tortoise gardens and all get demolished, their absolute favourite plant is campanula and ive recently planted more large ones in each of the tort gardens after the ladst lot got demolished, the juveniles have half demolished theirs already, i wish they would let them grow abit first as they can spread beautifully and are such lovely plants....anyway sorry for rambling lol x

Like Bev said, I think any carex grasses are OK and again, like Bev, mine don't eat them, they just use them for shade/shelter.

I made the HUGE mistake of planting tort friendly plants in Tort Lodge Gardens only to have them all eaten to the ground in days.... I dug up the roots and managed to recover them in plant pots.... I now just offer them now and again!! I have gone for larger plants/shrubs that are tort friendly, to grow in the enclosure. I did think ahead and grew some nasturtiums with a cage around.... Thinking torts could treat themselves as the leaves grew through the mesh ..... It did work..... Until the snails found them. (. Mine don't bother with the grasses, they just climb over it x x x hugs x

Like Bev, I also have carex plants and the tortoises enjoy sitting underneath them. I've never seen them eat them.
