What can i feed my two tortoisoes
I have 2 spur tighthed tortosies Ozzy and Oscar. Oscar has been to the vet twice in the last two months,as i have been worried about him the vet says he is fine,as he still is eating but i think he is getting bored with the lambs lettuce and flora lettuce,do you think i should give them cooked broccoli, caul flower.butter squash, brussell sprouts and some cabbage.

Any of the squashes are fine as is Kale (in moderation). I would steer clear of the broccoli, cauliflower, brussell sprouts and cabbage. A good pellet, like Mazuri, Leaf Eater or Komodo is good for the winter when a variety of weeds/greens is low.

Hi Jen,
Have a look at the tortoise table http://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/s...atabase_14.asp lots of ideas If you are worried then you could feed pellets a few times a week. I have only recently started doing this as I was all for a natural diet but when you cant offer a good vareity and cant be sure you are providing the right nutrients, action does need to be taken. I have to say Ralph my leo is doing so much better and is a lot more active. Hope this help Regards Sara |

I bulk out weeds with radicchio and romaine and feed Mazuri pellets once or twice a week throughout the winter.
Forgive me if I've got the wrong end of the stick but when Danny mentions spaghetti I think he means spaghetti squash and not the pasta. I'm sure you realise that but I thought I'd double-check.

I thought so Danny. I had visions of a big pile of spaghetti being dished up!
