Default building a coldframe ?

what plastic is recommended for this ? some of the better ones ive seen are using polycarbonate but i thought maybe there was something that doesnt filter out UV light might be better ?

i have alot of perspex at my disposal which may or may not be of any use ?

I think pretty much everything filters a lot of uv out, glass, Perspex, polycarbonate etc.

They do filter out UV but think the idea is for the tort to use it to gain extra heat & they get their UV from being outside. Some of mine have them but they dont stay in there all day long, just in & out as they wish.

There is a special glass which lets UV through but very expensive & I think you have to buy it in big sheets.

Thanks all, my friend works for a plastics company and he's going to sort me a price for some solarium stuff allows UV past which is always a bonus that's all I was asking for it not for him to go in all day just so that he's getting UV benefit in there too

Mark please let us know if you go ahead with the solarium uv transmitting material. I've heard of this stuff but nobody here has let us know if they have used it for a tortoise house. Can you saw and nail this material?
