mansion massacre
what do people think about that story where the bloke got himself into so much debt he killed himself and his family and his pets then burnt his mansion down, I think it's awfull how he went round and killed everything, don't understand why the animals though seems like he wanted to make sure no1 could have anything he loved if he couldn't. it's so sad that someone could be so materialistic that he's willing to end so many lives because he couldn't provide a lavish lifestyle anymore and have to settle for the lifestyle of the average Joe.

I heard a bit about this on the car radio a few days ago. Is it the one where the family where missing.I pressume they have found bodies.
Sounds like he may have been suffering from extreme depression to me which can cause people to have such irrational thoughts and actions. In his own mind he could have well thought he was doing everyone, including his pets, a favour.

It is a very sad story. It was most definitely an act of desperation, he was more than likey at the end of his tether and didint want the burden being passed on to his nearest and dearest, and as such like Rach said was thinking he was doing everyone and everything he loved a favour.
The police can only piece together some of the bits of the puzzle, and will more than likely never know the full story or reasons why.

I think that this story is so sad. He must have been incredibly mentally disturbed to have commited this horrendous act.

yea deffo depresion but why not talk about it, all the things he destroyed like the house and possesions are just possesions, he probs did think that his family would be disapointed in him if he lost there stuff but they would have forgiving him i imagine, the mind can be a terrible thing. poor family and pets.

This is called family annihilation & although rare does happen now & then. The psychologists say that it is usually done by a dominant man who over identifies with his family / lifestyle. Some times when these things are threatened by relationship breakdown or financial problems the man in question snaps.

It is all very sad
What must have been going through his mind while he was sat with his family at his neighbours BBQ. His friends and neighbours so no change in him. Yet the whole event sounds, to me anyway, very well thought out. He must have felt one desperate man to do such horrendous things, when in reality, life would have gone on. His cars, his house and his ponies would have been taken away. Yet he would have still had his wife and daughter and you can always rebuild.

Its very alarming and sad!
I reckon the guy was on the verge of a breakdown, and fulled by alcohol he took whatever "was his" with him! Mental health is just as much an issue as physical health but goes unseen, we can see a broken leg, arm etc, but cannot see what is happening inside people! Very tragic and hope the family and animals are at peace now! Wendy
