Default Winter Project

Now I know I said I would never build outdoor enclousures at christmas again after doing the last one in snow, but here I am on christmas eve eve in the middle of yet *another* enclousure. The holidays at this time of year become incredibly boring, especially when christmas is over. For now I will just add pictures of the area the enclousure is going to be in, but you will have to wait for the updated pics as its a bit dark now

Its going to be about 14 ft x 6 ft when finished with some areas a little wider. Eventually it will have access to a greenhouse when I get round to it. The sides will be log roll as I have found this very successful with my original enclousure. I'm not sure whos going in here yet. I will decide whos going where when its timefor them to go back outside.

I will add more pics as I go.

Thanks Nina, I have decided to do this one step-by-step as I go. I forgot to take pics when I built the last one

Looking good Pete, think I'm gonna follow your example and start mine now ready for next year!! One part of our garden tho is like a wet bog in winter, so will have to try and drain it first!!!

Got to put all my new toys in, the sand pit and coldframe etc!!!

Thats another reason I decided to start it now. I want it to be fairly well established before the summer so its ready for torts. We had a few areas which are boggy and flood heavily so I dug down and filled the hole with gravel and covered it back over. Its much better now and hasn't flooded for a couple of years.

Thanks for the comments it is something that should keep me busy for a few weeks.

Now for todays pics.

Now I've completly cleared the area and cut a rough outline in the soil.

The red thing coming out of the shed is armoured cable, which is buried under a mesh cage and will be boxed in where it comes out of the shed.

Right I sat today and looked at what I had done so far and I have changed my plans entirely. I am now going to move the 2 pens which are attahced to the coldframe and build new enclousures, which will be bigger and more secure there instead. I am then going to build a large enclousure the length if the shed whish will have greenhouse access at some pointin the future. So it has now gone from 1 enclousure to 3 I am hoping to get some log roll tommorow so I will add pics if I get anything done.
