The nuchal scute on the Kazakhstanica seems very pronounced in the photo, as it is on my own Kazakhstanica. Is this a common feature of the sub-species?

Yes it is a common feature, but is easily worn down in adults.

SUB SPECIES! I am new Horsfield (2) owner and I thought there was only 1 species of Horsefield. Does it matter if you have 2 different sub-species together as I wouldn't know if I have the same or different??
