As has been said, you would need to quaranteen the new tort for at least 6 months before introducing another to Trev. This is to have a chance to observe the new tort, it's behaviour, and to give it a chance to settle in. More importantly than that though, you can monitor for illness.

Torts can hide illness very well. Often you don't know a tort is ill before it's too late, in fact the Tortoise Trust now recommend quaranteen to be 18 months not 6. Even after this time there is no guarantee.

When a tort is stressed it's immune systen is lowered and any illness it may be carrying harmlessly, could surface.

Then there is the question of ratio. It is not ideal to have 1 male, 1 female as the male can and will harass the female with his contant demands for mating. This can get a bit aggressive.

Two males together, and one can try to dominate the other, bullly, fight etc.

The up shot of all this is by all means, get another tort but

a, quaranteen for at least 6 months
b, be prepared to separate permanently if need be

you do need a place to keep them sep if they start fighting or dont get along.

its hard to know whats best, some will say torts dont need friends other will say they dont mind and its up to u,
