The lady seems quite concerned bless her.
Personally, i wouldnt pay for the tortoise because it may need veterinary treatment but if she wont give her away, offer a small amount (less than £100 i would) and explain the need/possible need for veterinary treatment and the fact you will give it an amazing experienced home and hopefully she will budge a little. I wish you all the luck, but just dont go apying over the odds

She also lives quite far away from me so I would need a courier, costing approx £45. The seller does seem concerned so I am in a good positon to negotiate price. Even if I don't end up getting her at least the seller can make a few changes and if she sells her on at least she can give the new owner some correct advice to give the tort a good life.

The seller was asking for £220 just for the tortoise. I have a spare table, Arcadia combined bulb here ready and waiting so just need to get the price down to nearer £50 as I have to pay £45 courier aswell. Luckily the seller is really nice and understanding and seems to want the best for the tortoise.

I hope you get her, Lynne. I'm sure she's already in your thoughts and you'd worry if she went elsewhere. You sound all ready to get her.
I'd second Jackie. You should make the owner an offer. Good luck!
