As long as you intend keeping her - you bought her in good faith- I am sure there are ways around it - hopefully one of the others can advise you.
Is it just the seller who is breaking the law? If it was gifted you wouldn't need one. Last edited by Evie; 04-04-2011 at 09:10 PM. |

Well, you can make light of this if you want, but the illegal trading of tortoises is very serious. They are endangered species and their health can be seriouls compromised in the illegal trade - as is evident from the picture you provide.

No, the seller and buyer commit the offence. Main thing is where the buyer goes from here. They obviously have made a good move joining this forum.

I did research which I thought was good enough to be able to buy one and genuinely never read about needing a certificate. I googled the breed before going to look at her too. If i would have known i would have asked on the phone beforehand and if she said no i wouldnt have got her knowing this is illegal.
Sorry for making humour of it and for your information i did actually delete that comment!!!! On one side, you can see she is poor health as i have been told and i can and want to change this but i dont know what i am to do if i contact this woman tomorrow and she says she doesnt have a certificate. |
