Balantidium (Protozoa)
Hi I was wondering if anyone could explain what Balantidium (Protozoa) is and how bad it is thank you

Hello David
I believe it is a protozoan commonly found in the digestive system. It is common & not usually harmful. It only needs treating if tort stops eating. If you do need to treat it would be with flagyl which is only available from vets. |

Panacur is to treat worms & can be brought over the counter/ on line. Flagyl treats protazoa's & requires a prescription.

You may have delayed postings because they wont be live time til you've posted 5 times. Answer is completely different treatments for different ailments. One is vet prescription and other over the counter.
I think don't dose up unless you know what it is or more experienced regardless otherwise it may be like taking eye drops for an stomach ache. CB
