Default Winters coming

The weather has suddenly changed, no movement in the tortoise garden today, no one has got up today. They know winters coming 😨🍂🍁☔️❄️🎃🎄🎁

My Hermanns and graeca graecas have been around today but not anything else and I haven't seen any movement from my Horsfields for about a week despite it being very warm earlier. Every year I think this is very early to be slowing down but when I check my records it's usually exactly the same time every year and this year is no different. Depends on the sun and day length as much as the warmth. Mary

Yes both very sleepy today. Bertie hasn't moved from his indoor pen and Beatrice moved finally this afternoon to eat some weeds and go back again. Such a change just from Thursday in particular.

There is no fun scrabbling around on your hands and knees prodding a bamboo cane into the ground trying to find a dammed mole with a shell on it.
