Mega ray

Gaelle, some people have had no problems with the Mega Ray. Others have had non stop problems similar to yours.
You could try one of the following:
Solar Glo 125w - these seem to be performing well, and owners seem happy generally with their reliability
T Rex Active UV Heat 120w (has some components that are made by Westron which MAKE the MR bulb) - has had very good reviews..but you still take the chance being that some bits are made by those who make MR.
Arcadia 160w combined bulb - you get a 1year warranty with these, which is fantastic. Be aware - it might be too hot for your torts but you can always ensure your lamp stand is extended more.
These are generally thought of as the top 3. If anyone else knows of anymore good ones, then I am sure they will post.
IMO, these 3 are the ones (as well as MR itself) that are generally considered the best options out there. I have a good website which I can let you have if you PM me. And the guy who runs it is very clued up on tortoises and their lighting needs. xxx

It won't be untill we use them won't be long, we will both test them and report, Alan will be able to do the technical side in the decay with his tool.
