Some advise please - Tortoises & Rain (& STORMS)
Being a new owner and worried about all this very loud thunder and lightning storms, just went out and he's outside his house (which was flooding) so brought him in and put into a carrier cage in the lounge.
I read it is safe to leave the tortoise out in the rain - but what about outside in storms and for how long before it is too long in the storm/rain? Many thanks for any advice.

Hi Adam
It perfectly safe, as long as they are sheltered. I have coldframes and curved roof tiles s scattered around the garden, and broken terracotta pots too. Obviously if they are getting flooded they need to be somewhere dry<g>. But generally they do like the rain, prefering to drink from puddles rather than from dishes put out for them.
