I've got darwins certificate here and to be honest I've no idea what I'm looking at!! Can anyone explain it?

County of origin: turkey
Permit no: tr1805 35 014
Date of issue 15/10/08
Doc number 318718 02
Date of issue 29/10/08

country of origin is where you tort originated from, yours is from tiurkey
date of issue is when he was registered in uk
next date of issue is when you registered him (i think)
doc number i assume is the certificate number
permit number is like a passport number

Yes CB in Turkey, at least allegedly. CB does not mean there were bred in the UK. Just that they were captive bred somewhere, and then imported into the UK. Unless of course the country of origin in UK. Then they were UK CB.

Might phone the certificate place and chat with them

Lynds I think that breeder / trader is sounding more dodgey by the day. I just wonder exactly what your poor little red went through before she got to you. If she is telling you that she bred the tortoise, thus it being UKCB, i think a little chat with trading standards might be applicable.
