Missing Hermann Tortoise

Thank you for all your replies. It is very much appreciated.

I turfed an area that was covered in weeds, so he was a bit annoyed about that. I have gone round the garden (carefully) with a trowel but I can't find him. How far can they dig down? He's usually out until October and he's never attempted to bury himself before.

Thanks for the suggestion of white, I will try it. He likes red (strawberries!) so have tried that xxx
