First response... FK ME.
You are doing quite well with them. How long have you been keeping them for? Do you sell them?... if so... for how much? How many breeding females do you have? How many eggs in the average clutch? Can you tell me exactly how you care for them?... Enclosure type... open top enclosure Temperature range... 34c under spot but can fall or rise depends on back ground temps,Which i have no control over. UV provided... Mega ray x2 on a 6ftx2ft table,One lamp on each end with full day light tube as well. Substrate... Ocean rougth sand or sharp sand,This is a great substrate too use. Humid hide... I dont use hides with babys,Only adults thats where they like to lay there eggs. Foods Fed... Florect salad and supermarket food stuff when weeds are not about,I have used pellets in the past. Frequency of feeding...every day.. Water availability...at all times.. Soakings...no only spraying with warm water.. And any other insight you think might be important. I hope you don't mind the response but that is an amazing picture... as I'm guessing you well know. Hi Ed Thank you for your responce,You know im kinda pround off them. __________________

You have every right to be... you're actually entitled to bragging rights.
I don't know if I've asked you before... Have you considered registering them with the European Studbook for Egyptians. It could possibley open some doors for you. You don't want to answer those first questions? Quote:

Hi Ed
I first got 4 egyptians back in 2004 from a breeder here. Then in 2007 i bought my adults which was 2 males 4 females.I gave a friend of mine a female to help him out with his male heavy group at the time. Now my breeding group consist of 2 males 3 females,Only 2 off these females are egg laying. There first breeding season i hatched out 4 babys back in 2010,In 2011 i hatched out 19 babys from the 2 females. European Studbook for Egyptians i do have 3 males here from chester zoo,How ever they have not been used in any breeding yet.I have never thought about selling any of the offspring may look into selling some this season,See how it gos.I can not keep them all and you only have to feed them if you know i mean.

Thank you very much for the info.
My best year was 25 out of 2 females. I had one female lay a clutch of 5 eggs once. Mostly it was one or 2 eggs. The European Studbook keeper is a good friend if you don't have his contact info... email me. There are 2 studbooks... One for the zoo community and one for the private sector. I don't know if there is any crossover. Did you know that one of the farms in Slovenia is producing Egyptians and they just got permission to sell them out of country. I only have 2 females that I hatched out years ago. I lost my last WC male in the move to GA. I should be getting 6 babies from a friend in the next few months. His breeding group was obtained as WC animals in the late 90s. The best of luck with them and thanks again for the info. It is really informative. Quote:
