Hi,

About the nutrobal - I was getting very confused last week but finally resolved it - when I checked some advice given to me I checked with the Tortoise Trust site and "The Tortoise Trust Guide to Tortoises and Turtles" book it does recommend giving Nutrobal daily to hatchlings and juveniles. I've now changed to doing this and I then give Limestone flour in a dish and leave cuttlefish in the tort table as well. I just sprinkle the Nutrobal on using a pepper shaker.

Hope this helps

Judith

I just got home and saw this thread. I'm going to have to say that the vet is correct here. Absolutely while the leg is fractured you need to give Nutrabol everyday. To build and fix bones you need 3 things, Calcium, Phosphorus and Vitamin D3. You will get the calcium and D3 from the nutrabol and phosphorus from the weeds. It's going to take 4 to 5 months to heal. It's best to keep him on newspaper while he's recouperating. How is he getting around? I've been through just this with a Greek tortoise. I've written an article about it for the next newsletter. If you have any more questions Neilbirdy you can PM me.

Danny

I spoke to a zoologist the other day and he was explaining about overdosing on nutrobal that it is possible.
