Any idea?
Does anyone know where I might find a good second hand powerpoint projector from, and how much I might be looking at? Would be so handy for meetings where the speaker is unable to bring their own.
Thanks. Wendy Last edited by justmeandmytortoise; 11-06-2009 at 03:36 PM. |

how about making a request on freecycle, I don't think they have much value now as not many use slides anymore.

I did look on ebay, not much luck there when I looked. Admit though I am not much good with IT and computers so haven't a clue what I am looking for, or what they are called! Wanting one that doesn't take slides but links into the computer with powerpoint presentation. Someone must have an old one as they update their own, but it is where to look.

It might be worth asking at Schools if they have any old ones they could sell. I know my school updated all their IT systems including the projectors and many of the old ones were chucked out!

Why don't you put another post on General, Wendy to see if anyone can give you the actual name of the piece of kit is that you need? I had a quick look on Ebay but I was pretty confused too

Hi Wendy,
Just found this on EBay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SAHARA-PROTECT...3A1%7C294%3A24 This is the sort of thing that would plug into any laptop PC. One thing to consider with second hand projectors is the life of the bulb. If its been heavily used it may need replacing and they are not cheap. The one above says it;s only had 400 hours use, which is low. We have them on 12 hours a day at work and the bulbs last years. |

Just read through the description of the EBay one and it say's it produces a shadow on screen, so not really suitable for public use I'd say. I'll keep looking.
