And I think I'm seeing blood vessels now in an egg from 28th Feb. have to keep an eye on that one.
Good job I never throw things away. |

I have same stubborn eggs. I am certain they will hatch, they look good. I still believe they are good fertile eggs, will start giving them some 'stress' with diapause in 3 weeks time once I am back home.

She's hatched like a rocket and buried down into the moss I put the egg on. Probably couldn't wait to get out after 6 1/2 months. Tiny remnant of a yolk sac so I'll leave her alone for a bit.

I don't know where else to put this but you were spot on concerning the Musk I found... it dropped the smallest egg I've ever seen but it dropped it in the water. It is chalking normally and the yolk dropped but I don't see any red. I'll post pictures of the turtle with the egg and a scale.

Only about a week as of this post. I don't expect it to be good but it is acting so typical of a fertile egg... not blood spot though.

Good news Ed. I just read that musk incubation is 68-86 days, my quickest Baurii was about 90 days. I've found that the initial signs of an embryo took a little longer than I'm used to with my tortoises. Definite embryo and "ring of life" by two weeks, strong blood supply by four weeks.
