Missing Hermann Tortoise

We are devastated. Our much loved 8 year old Hermann tortoise George has gone missing. He has disappeared from our garden about a week ago. We live in Gloucester. If anyone hears of anything remotely helpful I would REALLY appreciate it xxxxxx

Has he possibly dug down to hibernate? I would do a thorough check you may find he is hiding

I've just re-done the garden this week, I'm very sure he's not there and we're having a bit of a hot spell at the moment so usually he would be out sunning himself somewhere on the grass.

I will definitely let you know when he comes home! xxxxxx

I don't know. He's been in the garden for 3 years and not got out. I had just changed the garden around a bit, maybe he got confused and found a way out. The only hole possible is up the side of the conservatory (which we didn't know about) and would take a bit of getting too. I'd hate to think someone took him, he isn't easy to spot in the garden as he's not in a pen.

It's awful, I'm feeling very despondent at the moment

Did you put in new plants cos mine will dig in any earth that has been disturbed or loosened and can go really quite deep down?

They do seem to be attracted to white
Perhaps you could put a white towel down?
