Animal clean out day.
Time for a complete overhaul of all the animals.
Oscar so far has tried to eat me twice as I am cleaning out his tank. I hate cleaning him out as the tank is really deep and quite high up so I have to hang over the tank and end up soaking wet. Splodge the corn snake is being done tomorrow as he was fed on Sunday so need to let that digest before I disturb him. The torts were done last night but won't take them long to mess everything up again. And this is all done on my week off.

There is always someone to clean out here. It's the guinea pigs and the aviary today. Chicken shed tomorrow, The big Parrots next day, budgie and conure next, lizard gets a spot clean every day as do the torts and then we start again.

Oh I hated cleaning out my guinea pigs. The smell. Uch. I'm never having rodents again. Though my hubby wants rats, he can, but I'm not touching them, feeding them or even looking in their direction. :-/
I'm sticking to torts and dogs.

Rats, well I think you will love them once you get used to them, they are as intelligent as a dog and so cute.

I don't mind too much here as the kids do the rabbit and guinea pigs hutches each weekend and they always help me with the chicken coop.
I always do the torts every morning before I even have my breakfast. My friend had rats and swore they really stink but I could never smell them. I do tend to have blocked sinuses a lot, but even so, I could never smell them.

Shows how bad my sinuses are then because I'm pretty sure she didn't do a weekly clean.

With females I would do at least 2 cleans a week. If the cage is big enough for the number of rats there shouldn't be too much problem. We had 3 males in a 5 ft tall by 4ft (at the base,) cage and there was very little smell. The cage was meant for about 5 ferrets.

I've only got the torts now, no more piggies or hamsters, much as I loved them.
But I do enjoy cleaning out tort tables and making them look nice and smart, even tho it doesn't last long
