It is always good experience to go to interviews for jobs you don't really want as it gives you an idea of what will be asked and if things don't work out there is nothing list only experience gained. Don't be afraid to ask for clarity of the questions because that will give you 'thinking' time, and ask questions back!!!
Gordon, what are you like?!!! That approach doesn't work with female interviewers, or maybe it would depending on their stance in life x x xx hugs x x x

Trouble is I've had that thinking time in other interviews. My mind goes blank and it becomes insufferable silence. I then lose totally what I was saying.
I still don't know if I want to go through all of it for a job that already doesn't impress me or that I think will be any good.
I think if it were a job that I genuinely thought yes this sounds like it's the right one (for my own reasons) then I would just go for it and feel a lot more enthusiasm. Yes I may not even get this one I know but what's the real point if I am not driven or think that's it right in the first place. Why put yourself through it? Plus a week isn't long to suddenly be told you have an interview, IMO. In my experience, you get a little longer leeway. xx

I probably rushed applying for it if I'm honest. As in saw it and just panicked thinking I won't get nothing else. Now yes this may happen and I could end up thinking in hindsight why did I not go for it. But I can't shake the feeling I have. xx

Rach - see what you mean. you could concentrate on the ones you do want....but remember you don't get an interview unless the company thinks you can do the job ! so whatever you did in your application it must have been really good !! CB

I understand all that Rach, and you are right. I saw one or two that on the initial reading sounded just right, then the thought process kicked in and it was like you said ' do I have to put myself through the interview process for something I am not sure about'. And then the problem of 'do I accept a job I am not sure about' when you have blown them away at interview!!! X x x. Hugs x xx

Well....I have emailed them to say I'm not attending.

And today received a letter from Bath Council asking me to attend an interview, of which I will attend.

These 2 were the first jobs I applied for. This latest one, a little better. The council would be a strong employer and a safe one.
Still got all the same worries about the interview though. This one is a 3-panel. Other one was a 2-panel.
They must like all my babbling I guess....xx
